Walter Disney

| May 20, 2014

Walter Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 to Elias and Flora Disney. The family later moved to Kansas after hard times on the farm. Walt Disney was not regarded a bright student and was often caught doodling and daydreaming. Walt developed an interest in art even after joining Red Cross in Europe. While in Europe, he designed Red Cross posters and editorial cartoons. After staying in Europe for some time, Walt moved back to U.S and joined his brother Roy in California. Together, they opened the first Disney studio and began producing innovative short movies about adventures of a little girl that combined live action and animation. The Disney landed a contract to produce Alice series, which resulted in 54 Alice films. It was a great success.
