Assignment 1: School Reformation Policies

Due Week 3 and worth 140 points

Select a particular school reform policy that you would like to modify and use the Internet and the Strayer Library to conduct research on that policy.

Write a four to six (4-6) page paper in which you:

1.Examine the relationship of the selected policy to historical and traditional methods of adopting school reform policies.

2.Propose the modifications that you would like to make to the existing school reform policy.

3.Determine three (3) ways to:

a.implement the desired changes.

b.lead the modification of the reform policy.

4.Predict three (3) barriers that will be encountered when attempting to modify this reform policy in a traditional bureaucratic school. Propose solutions to these barriers.

5.Determine four (4) ways to promote:

a.the modification of this reform policy.

b.a transition to a learning organization.

6.Include at least three (3) references (no more than five (5) years old) from material outside the textbook.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

•Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

•Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
