Over this semester we have explored religious/philosophical traditions from India and China, focusing on Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism (and noting Buddhism’s spread throughout much of Asia), and also touching on Jainism and Sikhism. We have also talked about the challenges that India and China face in today’s world, especially in terms of their rapid economic expansion. In around 750 words or so, please explain how knowing the important traditions from India and China can help us to understand the actions of these countries today. How do those traditions inform the perspectives of their citizens? How might those perspectives the everyday lives of the citizenry? How might these perspectives shape national policies, and economic activity? How would this affect relations with the global community? And finally, has what you have learned in this class served to broaden your perspective about Indian and Chinese culture and people?…..This is an important assignment, and worth up to twelve points, so please think about this carefully. I am very interested in your personal input! Please note the deadline day/time. this is the book that we studied it in this course “SACRED PATHS OF THE EAST” ISBN: 9780131539051
