Okanagan College Human Resource Planning Questions McCabe Inc., a Western Canada marketing company had grown to 100 employees. The company is discussing the various needs it will have for new staff as it continues to grow. It has recently set up a process of identifying, developing, and tracking key individuals so that they may eventually assume top-level positions. Joan Farris the Vice President of Marketing spends much of here day developing and coaching people and helping to solve problems. She has a prescribed employee performance management process. She feels that decisions concerning her marketing employees staffing, training and performance appraisals is her responsibility. Jay Carter, the Vice President of HR feels that McCabe Inc. must have consistent HR practices and that staffing, training and performance management policies must be centralized in the HR department.
