The paper must be 1250-1500 words in length. The paper must include a minimum of two scholarly sources in addition to the primary literary text. All papers are expected to be in MLA format with a works Cited Page. Beware you don’t need to summarize much. Most of this paper should be taken up by your opinions regarding subject, character, support and plot. Focus on analysis, not summary.
The book we are using for our literature class is Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley, Edited by J. Paul Hunter, A Norton Critical Edition. PLEASE make sure it is the 1818 text.

Consider the role literature plays in the shaping identity in Frankenstein. Victor has Cornelius Agrippa, Elizabeth and Henry Clerval have their poetry, and the creature has books like Plutarch’s Lives Milton’s Paradise Lost. How are these books that the characters read significant? Why? How do the books/authors reflect the character’s identity? How do the books/authors influence the character’s identity? How do the books/authors influence the way others perceive them?
