The comments below reflect the judgment of the University markers, moderated by the External

Examiner for the Subjects(s). The grade is the final agreed grade.

Structure

The research problem has not been clearly identified and justified. Chapter one does not provide appropriate and cohesive focus for

the research. Some examination of the use of technology by organisations and the impact of technological advancement to

management and resources has been demonstrated however the argument is sometimes unsubstantiated by the rationale or

commentary provided. Little theories and concepts are used to support the argument and set up the scene for the research.

Knowledge of relevant theories/literature

Discussion may be present but incomplete and the argument made is not consistently substantiated with reference to theory and

literature. Discussion on key tensions and debates within technology management literature is missing. The literature review chapter

could be improved by providing a coherent synthesis of literature related to technology management. Although some examination of

the importance of technology and its application is present, overall there is inconsistent argumentation and/or lack of clear discussion

of technology management.

Methodology

The methodology and methods chapters were poor. The discussion was inadequate and limited understanding of the various methods

of research was demonstrated. Several errors of understanding of concepts evident. The methods for data collection and analysis

selected for this research were not clearly presented. Some key information was either missing or poorly presented such as number of

participants/respondents, types of questions asked, answers to questions, number of organisations included in the research, where

these were based and their business context. There was limited evidence of interviews or surveys being carried out.

Work undertaken and analysis/interpretation of results

The findings and discussion chapters lack coherence with the research questions/objectives stated at the beginning. Tables and

graphs were poorly presented. Very few key issues were identified and/or mostly a focus on insignificant detail. Some points made

but may be weakened by several unsupported claims, assumptions and vague statements. The discussion could have been improved

by examining and evaluating the issues identified in more depth and using the theory and concepts to substantiate the argument.

Could have included many additional discussions supporting the different challenges that the organisation experience in harnessing

technology and the impact these have on the work force and the management of the organisation. There was limited consideration

given to the research questions and objectives. At times it was difficult to understand how the researcher has arrived to the

results/conclusions.

Recommendations/conclusions

Limited conclusions. No recommendations provided. It would have been good to see an evaluation of whether the research questions

were answered through the research and whether the research objectives stated were achieved.

Presentation

Adequate writing but ineffective use of academic tone. May be several errors which obscure meaning.

Uses sources in a limited way to support argument and relies heavily on single sources. Referencing (in text and reference list) and

presentation is recognizable as Harvard style but may be some errors or inconsistency.
