“How Globalization affects my workplace”

This course is called: Approaches to Global Studies.
Introduksjon: This course provides an introduction to globalization processes that affect our everyday lives and our social relationships in a world that is perceived as less and less. In education, the term “globalization” be subject for interdisciplinary analyzes, especially considering the impact of economic liberalization in the north has had for developing countries in the south. Is globalization a process that increases or decreases the differences between rich and poor? The course will also focus on the impact that tourism and increased migration causes in our community. Why growing amount of people moving within countries and across borders. What are the consequences for culture and identity, and how does this affect our local workplace? Globalization processes also about how new technology is changing the way we communicate and how we communicate about. What consequences does the development of new technology for youth and religious movements, and how to influence these rapid changes our identity?
Here is where you come in dear Writer. Remember to also write in English as my second language. I`m from Norway, and English is not my native language, so the language in the text must “sound” as English as second language.
Mandatory work requirements
1. Students must write an essay of 1,000 words (+/- 10%) combining theoretical
reflection on experiences from their own practice.
My practice/work consist of working with young kids between 12-15 years old who has a different relegious and cultural background. The tile of my job is called guidance counselor for kids who has a minority background. My work is basically to give advicse and help out kids who struggles beetween two cultures ( majority culture, the norweian and the minorty cukture exmaple muslim, hindu, jduaism etc. I also provide the school/teachers that I work with advise on how to approach pupils who has a different cultural and relegious background. Remember I also live and come from Norway.
The topic of the essay is: “How Globalization affects my workplace”

When you write the essay, you MUST use the litteratue list/ Syllabus list I have given you access to. When you write a paragrpagh or where you referer to book or to one of the articles from the Compendium file I have given to you, you need to also include the page number from where in the text you are writing the reflection part from beside the name of the artciles/book and what the book is called. Those e-books like for example the Thomnas Hylland Eriksen doesn`t have page numbers in it. Use then instead “chapter references instead, so that in that way can dubbelcheck the that what you have written in that paragrapgh.
Jan aart Scholte e-book contains page numbers, so there it is not a problem, just type in the page/site number from the book from when you type iun the refernse or quote.
